Spread the love This week I had the pleasure of getting out of my office and away from the writing desk to dispense my wisdom on television. Denver 9News reporter Melissa Blasius contacted me to help her develop a story about online dating scams. Here is the video if you want to check it out! These people are everywhere, infiltrating online dating sites and other social media sites such as Facebook. Online dating scammers will go after anyone, male or female. They also target people who are divorced, widowed, or single parents… people who may be lonely and vulnerable to the affections of an attractive stranger. Long distance relationships are hard enough when someone lives in the next state over… developing a romance with someone 10 time zones away is pretty unrealistic.
A dating app for HIV-positive people that was leaking sensitive user data apparently threatened to infect the admin for a site that planned to write about it. What the dating app, Hzone, threatened: Why do you want to do this? We are just a business for HIV people. If you want money from us, I believe you will be disappointed. And, I believe your illegal and stupid behavior will be notified by our HIV users and you and your concerns will be revenged by all of us. I suppose you and your family members don’t want to get HIV from us? If you do, go ahead. According to CSO, Hzone representatives claim that the app has more than registered users.

Well, yes, there seem to be more couples consisting of a foreign man and a Japanese woman than the other way round. In Japan, however, this is rarely the case. Most foreign men are willing to make the first move to approach a Japanese girl. They should be the ones to take the initiative. If you like a Japanese guy, you should at least give him an obvious hint e. In many Western countries, the majority of men show their affection directly through words and action hugging, kissing — even in public. In comparison, most Japanese men are too shy and reversed to do that. So, I want you to pay very close attention to their body language. It might be difficult to notice at first, but we definitely show some sort of interest or subtle emotion. In our culture, we heavily rely on non-verbal communication.

Dating apps are often blamed for the death of romance. We usually think of a Tinder or OkCupid user as someone absent-mindedly swiping through photos of nearby singles to find an easy hookup. But recent data from marketing firm SimpleTexting tells a different tale. Of the dating app users the firm surveyed, a significant number — 44 percent of women and 38 percent of men — said they were looking for a committed relationship. Perhaps because there is often more money to be made in serial flings than lasting relationships. Customers engaging in the former will keep paying monthly subscription fees, while those who enter into the latter are more likely to delete their account. So dating apps may not be strongly motivated to resist being pigeonholed as hookup facilitators. The same incentives may also affect the extent to which online dating platforms choose to innovate.

Dating Violence Study looks at the lives of boys who commit dating violence To prevent violence against girls researchers advocate addressing issues related to boys’ home and other environments This study advocates broadening the view of abusive behaviors within dating relationships to explore the myriad environments — school, home and community — that affect boys’ lives and actions. A recent study sheds light on the lives of teenage boys who abuse their girlfriends. In their own words, the young men often describe facing challenges such as growing up with troubled family lives, having little or no support when they began to fail at school, and witnessing violence in their own homes and communities. The study advocates broadening the view of abusive behaviors within dating relationships to explore the myriad environments — school, home and community — that affect boys’ lives and actions. It is the first qualitative study to document the social and environmental factors experienced by adolescent males who have abused dating partners. Despite multiple studies on the consequences of dating violence for girls, Miller said researchers still lack an understanding of the fundamental social and environmental factors that promote male violence within dating relationships — information that is crucial to guiding its prevention. It’s not that simple. We really need to do meaningful prevention that addresses the failures of the structures and systems in place that are supposed to support these boys.
